Spectacular Art at Australian Body Art Festival!

Once again, the Australian Body Art Festival was an art spectacular! There were winners galore and grins galore as just over 4000 spectators enjoyed all that was on show!

Some of Australia’s best body artists, face painters, visual artists and wearable art designers created and paraded their masterpieces across seven competition categories including two new categories – UV painting and Surfboard Art both of which were amazing additions to the program. Added to this super charged art show were some amazing entertainers on stage, rock painting workshops, art installations and market and food stalls.

The orange army of volunteers did an amazing job and pulled together a fantastic weekend for everyone. While the event was smaller than previous years due to covid restrictions, it still provided a fabulous showcase of art and the feedback from attendees has been glowing.

“We always said this year would be different and a scaled back version because of covid restrictions and we were just very happy to be able to hold the event after last year’s cancellation. All the hard work was definitely worth it and everyone had a great weekend and it all worked out better than we could have hoped for. There were smiles all around and there were a few new additions to the festival that were big hits! It was a huge effort, and it couldn’t have happened without all the volunteers, artists, models, sponsors and funding partners. We are looking forward to next year when hopefully we can get back to more normality and see an even bigger and better event,” said event manager, Danielle Taylor.

The theme of Time Travel drew a wide range of interpretations across all competition categories and some truly incredible art emerged.

“The artists were under pressure to create their masterpieces within the defined time limits of the competitions, yet all of them enjoyed themselves and wowed audiences with their creations,” Danielle said.
