Body Art Festival Ranked in Australia’s Top 40

phenomenal success. The festival is a celebration or Australia’s extraordinarily talented body artists, as well as the stunning natural beauty of Cooroy and the Noosa Hinterland. Each year the festival attracts visitors from throughout the country, and this year the Australian Body Art Festival has been recognised in Flight Network’s Top 40 Arts and Culture Festivals.

Described as a family-friendly celebration of artistic talent, Cooroy’s Australian Body Art Festival has joined the ranks of some impressive heavyweight contenders in the Arts category such as Melbourne Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival and Horizon Festival.  That’s no humble feat for the small but vibrant community of Cooroy, especially considering it is a free festival run by tireless and dedicated volunteers.

Each year the Australian Body Art Festival is organised and run by the volunteers at the Cooroy Chamber of Commerce who dedicate many, many hours to help create such a wonderful and unique festival. It attracts artists and spectators from around Australia and overseas and is a festival of colour and entertainment that sparks the imagination.  With several types of body painting, fashion, music and roving entertainment on offer it is a two-day festival that should be on everyone’s must do list.

As the Australian Body Art Festival is an annual event, if you missed this year’s fun make sure you put 6 & 7 April 2019 in your diary.  There is a different theme each year for this festival and the 2019 theme has just been announced as “Other Worlds”.  Visit Facebook @AustralianBodyArtFestival or their website www.australianbodyart.com.au for more information and photos.
